As longtime breeders of English Golden Retrievers, we have experienced firsthand the amazing benefits of switching our dogs to a species appropriate raw diet. Our puppies make a smooth transition from mama’s milk to food. And all our dogs are leaner and show improved muscle and joint growth and stability. Feeding Tips and Best Practices

  • Monitor Energy Levels: A well-fed dog should be energetic and playful. If energy drops or your dog seems lethargic, adjustments to their diet may be needed.
  • Watch Stool Consistency: Your dog’s stool should be firm, similar to a Tootsie Roll or a railroad spike. Loose stools may indicate too much fat, while hard, crumbly stools could mean too much bone content.
  • Portion Control: Feed approximately 2-3% of your dog’s ideal adult body weight daily as a general starting point, adjust based on your dog's body condition. You should be able to feel your dog's ribs but not see them. When looking down at your dog, you should see a waist, and from the side, the belly should be tucked up. Over 50% of domestic dogs are overweight, which is one of the biggest risk factors for a shortened lifespan.
